Just want to congratulate whoever set this site up. You have achieved a high level of toxicity in a short time.

I'm honestly baffled by comments like these, this website is less toxic than twitter!

The only way you could have set the bar lower is by replacing Twitter with EJMR.

Policy seems clear, implementation is opaque. It is not clearly indicated when a post has been accepted.

After some more experimentation, I have gained appreciation for this opacity. Kudos to you.

I don't like how some "big list" threads get bogged down by discussion of one specific instance crowding out the other. See the recent bigshot thread - while the talk on AA is definitely nice, it would be worth it to somehow turn that into its own thread.

I guess I would like to somehow propose a new feature to make threads more "modular" in content. This would obviously involve some vote to split a thread system, but I don't have the brain power to formalize the details.

It depends on how recent and well edited the wiki entry, but even then wiki can be verbose and bury the lede. i.e. more to wade through when I just want to rapidly find a definition.

I’m starting to suspect that some users with VPN have started to abuse the nuking option. Innocent jokes are nuked within literally a few seconds, it’s hard to believe that there are so many unreasonably triggered autists browsing this forum in any given moment.

^ Several times I have seen disagreement-in-good-faith getting nuked by people who seem to believe the attempted syllogism "I hate X. A disagrees with what I say. A is contained in X". See also the elastic use on this forum of the words "woke" and "autist" here which are just mirror images of the soi-disant progressives' (mis-)use of "MAGA" and "incel" for people who disagree with them.

This is not a culture war thing but actually a real problem. There are several autists here who have a very difficult time understanding even the most obvious and harmless jokes, and whenever they encounter a joke they don't understand (which is the case with most jokes), they will interpret at literally and then decide to nuke. MJMR needs an autist-safe mechanism.

Not OP, but I also think search feature would be useful. For example, in the "tenure-track results" thread (41 pages), there are useful information about some of the departments (the culture in the department etc.) that could help those who get offers from those places. Right now, it is almost impossible to get such specific information.
