Who tf cares about this guy

I mean Hilado should not find any job. He did nothing in his PhD....
Why the fuck do you care so much about a semi-random grad student from a small program? It seems really pathological on your part.
And anyway, plenty of people get postdocs based on thesis work that isn’t yet posted (but which is described in letters).

Hilado had a somewhat controversial public profile because of his work on IUTT. It makes sense to care about Hilado.
It makes sense to care about his idiot advisor (who he was smart enough to eventually drop), but I think that people that young should be cut some slack for stuff like that.

I don't think anybody here wishes ill to Hilado or aims to attack him. But it is undeniable that he has attracted more attention than others, so there will naturally be questions here about his post-doc performance.

The post that started this mess was definitely an attack on him, claiming he “shouldn’t get a postdoc” and suggesting that he hadn’t done anything during his grad school career (how could someone possibly know this unless they’re at Vermont?).

How does he attract more attention than the others? I honestly didn't know who he was (and still don't know much about him now) until someone mentioned his name here, which seems no one really cares.
